طاب وقتي بلطيفٍ مسمعٍ

روحَ مَن يصغي إليه نغما

روحَ مَن يصغي إليه نغما

My time grew sweet with a gentle one who lets

My time was blessed with a gentle listener

the spirit of whoever listens to him hear melodies.

It soothed the soul of those who heard its melody

والمغني والغنا آلته

والمغني والغنا آلته

تُوهَبُ الأسرار من حلقهما

تُوهَبُ الأسرار من حلقهما

And the singer and singing are his instrument;

The singer and the instrument he played

secrets are bestowed from the throats of both.

فترى الروح به تنعش إذ
