1. محبوب قلبي لاحْ

    للعين في صورَهْ

    My heart's beloved has appeared

    to the eye in a form.

  2. وجامع الأرواحْ

    لي فيه مقصورَهْ

    And the mosque of spirits—

    within it I have a private chamber.

  3. والقلب في أفراح

    والنفس محصوره

    And the heart is full of joy,

    and the self is confined.

  4. كاسات صرف الراح

    رايات منصوره

    Cups of unmixed wine

    are victorious banners.

  5. يا طلعة الساقي

    من جانب الأكوان

    O countenance of the cupbearer,

    from the realm of created worlds!

  6. يزهو بإشراق

    في حضرة الديان

    He shines with radiance

    in the presence of the Judge.

  7. خمري هنا باقي

    يجلَى على الندمان

    My wine remains here,

    unveiled before the drinking companions.

  8. فاسكر به يا صاح

    أحوال مبصوره

    So become drunk on it, O friend!

    States made visible.

  9. إني أنا وحدي

    والكل أفعالي

    Indeed, I am alone,

    and all things are my acts.

  10. فاخرج من اللحد

    يا غافل البال

    So emerge from the grave,

    O heedless-minded one!

  11. واعلم بلا جحد

    آيات أقوالي

    And know, without denial,

    the signs in my words.

  12. روض المعاني فاح

    أغصان مهصوره

    The garden of meanings has released its fragrance,

    its branches bent low.

  13. صلى على المختار

    ربي مع التسليم

    May the Chosen One be blessed

    by my Lord, with salutations of peace—

  14. من جاء بالأنوار

    واختص بالتقديم

    he who brought the lights

    and was singled out for precedence.

  15. عبد الغني يختار

    في الحب شرب الهيم

    ʿAbd al-Ghani chooses,

    in love, to drink like thirst-stricken camels.

  16. والبلبل الصياح

    أحشاه معصوره

    And the loud-crying nightingale—

    its entrails are wrung.
