ألا يا أيها النور الحقيقيْ

على لمعانه مزقت زيقي

Lo, O you, the true light!

Oh light of truth, I cry

At its radiance, I tore my collar.

For your radiance has torn my soul

وملت به أعربد عن طريقي

وملت به أعربد عن طريقي

فدع عنك الملامة يا رفيقي

فدع عنك الملامة يا رفيقي

And through it I veered from my path, carousing.

And with it, I express my path

So put aside reproach, O my companion.

So cease your blame, my friend

هو الحادي ترنم للمطايا

هو الحادي ترنم للمطايا

وأظهر من جوانحها خبايا

وأظهر من جوانحها خبايا

He is the camel-driver; he sang to the mounts,

It is the guide, singing to the camels

And revealed secrets from within their breasts,

Revealing the secrets of their wings

وذكَّرها المباسم والثنايا

وذكَّرها المباسم والثنايا

وأسكرها بكاسات الرحيق

وأسكرها بكاسات الرحيق

And reminded them of smiling mouths and front teeth,

Reminding them of smiles and twists

And intoxicated them with cups of pure wine.

Intoxicating them with cups of nectar

سقى الله الشعابَ شعاب نجدِ

سقى الله الشعابَ شعاب نجدِ

وإن كان التعلل ليس يجدي

وإن كان التعلل ليس يجدي

May God water the ravines—the ravines of Najd,

May God water the valleys of Najd

And though seeking solace is of no avail,

Though excuses are of no avail

فإني ذبت من شوقي ووجدي

فإني ذبت من شوقي ووجدي

إلى الأحباب في وادي العقيق

إلى الأحباب في وادي العقيق

I have indeed melted from my longing and my passion

For I have melted from my passion and fervor

For the beloved ones in the valley of al-Aqiq.

For the loved ones in Wadi Al-Aqeeq

عسى النسمات بالأخبار تاتي

عسى النسمات بالأخبار تاتي

وتحييني بهم بعد الممات

وتحييني بهم بعد الممات

May the breezes come bearing news,

May the breezes bring news

And revive me through them after death,

And revive me with them after death

وأحظى من شذاهم بالهبات

وأحظى من شذاهم بالهبات

وأفرح في لقا ذاك الفريق

وأفرح في لقا ذاك الفريق

And may I receive gifts from their fragrance,

May I gain gifts from their fragrance

And rejoice in meeting that company.

And rejoice in meeting that company

وصلى الله ربي كل حين

وصلى الله ربي كل حين

على خير الورى طه الأمين

على خير الورى طه الأمين

And may God, my Lord, send blessings at every moment

And may God, my Lord, always

Upon the best of creation, Taha, the trustworthy,

Bless the best of creation, Taha the Trustworthy

ومَن عبدُ الغنيِّ على اليقين

ومَن عبدُ الغنيِّ على اليقين

بنصرته له في كل ضيق

بنصرته له في كل ضيق

And upon whoever Abd al-Ghani is certain

And those who worship the Rich with certainty

Will aid him in every distress.

With His support for them in every plight
