Indeed, this is some of what has appeared

This is but some of what's been seen

of the beauty of the Chosen One, the best of creation.

Of Mustafa's beauty, best of all creation

حجرة تجمع طه وأبا

حجرة تجمع طه وأبا

بكر الصديق حتى عمرا

بكر الصديق حتى عمرا

A chamber that gathers Taha and Abu

A chamber where Taha and Abu Bakr

Bakr al-Siddiq, even Umar.

The Truthful convened, even Umar

ثم في ثوبيهما كان بدا

ثم في ثوبيهما كان بدا

وأعيد الآن لما قبرا

وأعيد الآن لما قبرا

Then it had appeared in their two garments,

Then in their garments it appeared

and now was brought back when the two were buried.

And has now returned, since they were buried

حضرةٌ في حضرةٍ في حضرةٍ

حضرةٌ في حضرةٍ في حضرةٍ

أثرت في كل قلب أثرا

أثرت في كل قلب أثرا

A presence within a presence within a presence

A presence within a presence within a presence

left an impression in every heart.

That has left its mark on every heart

يا جميل الوجه إني أينما

يا جميل الوجه إني أينما

لك فارفعْ عن تُوَلُّوا ضررا

لك فارفعْ عن تُوَلُّوا ضررا

O beautiful of face, I am ‘wherever’

O beautiful of face, wherever I am

for you; so lift harm from ‘you turn.’

Raise for me and remove all harm

إنه النور الذي منك أتى

إنه النور الذي منك أتى

يقتفي البحر فيحوى الدررا

يقتفي البحر فيحوى الدررا

Indeed, it is the light that came from you;

It is the light that came from you

it follows the sea and so contains pearls.

That searches the sea and contains the pearls

ومعانيه إذا لاحت به

ومعانيه إذا لاحت به

فهي منه فيه أمر خطرا

فهي منه فيه أمر خطرا

And when its meanings shine forth through it,

And its meanings, when they appear through it

they are from it, within it—a matter that came to mind.

Are from it, in it, a grave matter

صحت الأمة في أنفسها

صحت الأمة في أنفسها

مثل نفسي أمتي منك جرى

مثل نفسي أمتي منك جرى

The community was sound within its own selves;

The nation regained itself

like ‘myself,’ ‘my community’ issued from you.

Like my soul - from you it flowed

وعفا الرحمن عما حدثت

وعفا الرحمن عما حدثت

أمتي أنفسها قد أثرا

أمتي أنفسها قد أثرا

And the All-Merciful pardoned what was spoken

And the Merciful forgave what

by my community to its own selves, as has been reported.

My nation did to itself, it left its trace

يا بني الجمع هو الفرق لكم

يا بني الجمع هو الفرق لكم

كل من جال به واعتبرا

كل من جال به واعتبرا

O sons of union, it is distinction for you—

O sons of gathering, division is for you

all who ranged through it and took heed.

All who strayed with it and considered
