فيه أنا ميت ومقبورُ

In Him I am dead and buried.

And in Him I am gathered and resurrected.

هو الوجود الحق لا أحد

سواه لا نار ولا نور

سواه لا نار ولا نور

He is true Being; there is no one

He is the true existence, none

besides Him—no fire and no light.

Other than Him, neither fire nor light.

وجنتي وهو نعيمي ولم

وجنتي وهو نعيمي ولم

يزل إلى أن ينفخ الصور

يزل إلى أن ينفخ الصور

And He is my paradise and my bliss, and ever

And my paradise while He is my bliss and He

remains so until the trumpet is blown.

Has not ceased to be till the trumpet is blown.

والحور والولدان تبقى ولا

والحور والولدان تبقى ولا

ولدان إلا هوْ ولا حور

ولدان إلا هوْ ولا حور

And the houris and the youths remain, yet there are no

The houris and youth will remain but no

youths but Him, nor houris.

Youths except He and no houris.

هناك لا يبقى سواه ولا

هناك لا يبقى سواه ولا

يبقى سواه وهو مشهور

يبقى سواه وهو مشهور

There nothing remains besides Him, and nothing

There, none will remain except Him and

remains besides Him, and He is well known.

None will remain except Him, and He is well known.

وهكذا الكل ولكن هنا

وهكذا الكل ولكن هنا

يظهر مخذول ومنصور

يظهر مخذول ومنصور

And so it is with all; yet here

And so is everything, but here

the forsaken and the victorious appear.

Appears the wretched and the victorious.

وجود حق نحن فيه وما

وجود حق نحن فيه وما

فيه سواه باطل زور

فيه سواه باطل زور

True Being—we are in it; and whatever

The existence of Truth we are in it and nothing

is in it other than Him is falsehood, a lie.

In it other than Him is false vanity.

كن هكذا مثلي تكن مثله

كن هكذا مثلي تكن مثله

وثم لا مصرٌ ولا سور

وثم لا مصرٌ ولا سور

Be thus, like me, and you will be like Him.

Be like this, like me, be like Him

And there is neither city nor wall.

And then neither Egypt nor Syria remains.

حضرة إطلاق كروض زها

حضرة إطلاق كروض زها

يُطربُ منه فيه شحرور

يُطربُ منه فيه شحرور

An unbounded presence, like a garden in bloom,

The presence of the Absolute is like meadows of flowers

where a blackbird gives delight, from it and within it.

Wherein the warbler is delighted.

وهو الذي يسمع لا أنت بل

وهو الذي يسمع لا أنت بل

يبصر لا أنت ومبصور

يبصر لا أنت ومبصور

And He is the one who hears, not you; rather,

And He it is Who hears, not you, but

He sees, not you, and is what is seen.

Sees, not you, and forms.

وذاك مسموع ولا غيره

وذاك مسموع ولا غيره

وهُوَ لا موسى ولا طور

وهُوَ لا موسى ولا طور

And that is heard; there is none other than Him.

And that is heard and none other than Him

And it is He, not Moses, nor the Mount.

And He is neither Moses nor Mount Sinai.

وإنما الكل تقاديره

وإنما الكل تقاديره

كالبرق مقدور فمقدور

كالبرق مقدور فمقدور

And all is nothing but His decrees,

Rather, all are His ordainments

like lightning: one decreed thing, then another.

Like lightning, ordained and then ordained.

علم قديم وهو عين الذي

علم قديم وهو عين الذي

يعلم مخزون ومسرور

يعلم مخزون ومسرور

Eternal knowledge, and it is precisely what

Ancient knowledge and it is the essence that

the stored-away and the joyful know.

Knows the hidden and the revealed.

His existence is the self, and that, in

His existence is the soul and that is in

His names and the attributes, is mentioned.
