أقول لجمعكم يا أهل عصري
أياO فقراءneedy ones للربbefore the Lord الخبيرthe All-Aware
أيا فقراء للرب الخبير
I say to your gathering, O people of my age:
O you who are poor before the All-Aware Lord,
أناI عبدservant of الغنيthe Self-Sufficient فكيفso how أرجوI hope for
أنا عبد الغني فكيف أرجو
سواهanyone other than Him وماand not أناI عبدservant of الفقيرthe poor one
سواه وما أنا عبد الفقير
I am ʿAbd al-Ghani, servant of the Self-Sufficient—so how could I hope
in anyone but Him, when I am no servant of the poor?
