أنا الوجود الذي ذاتي وأوصافي

خلقتها لي بتقديري وإنصافي

I am existence, whose essence and attributes

I am the existence, my essence and attributes

I created for myself by my decree and my justice.

بل قد خلقت جميع الخلق يا صافي

مع أنني عبد فاني عند وصَّافي

مع أنني عبد فاني عند وصَّافي

Nay, I have created all creation, O pure one,

Rather, I created all creation, O Pure One

Though I am a mortal servant in my describer’s eyes.

Although I am a fleeting servant in the eyes of my Maker
