الناس موصوفون بالأفعالِ
بسائرِby all الأقوالwords والأعمالِand deeds
بسائرِ الأقوال والأعمالِ
Human beings are subject to acts,
People are characterized by actions,
in all their sayings and their deeds,
by all words and deeds,
منfrom غيرother than تأثيرcausal influence لهمof theirs فيin كلall ماthat which
من غير تأثير لهم في كل ما
يكونcomes to be منfrom ذلكthat باستئصالwith total eradication
يكون من ذلك باستئصال
without any power of their own to affect whatever
without any causal power of their own over anything
comes about thereby independently.
that comes of these—none whatsoever.
فإنfor indeed معنىthe meaning أنهمthat they قدhave (perfect marker) أثرواthey had an effect
فإن معنى أنهم قد أثروا
أيthat is أظهرواthey brought forth منfrom عدمnonexistence للحالat that moment
أي أظهروا من عدم للحال
For to say that they have produced an effect means
For saying that they have had an effect
that they brought something out of nonbeing at once.
means they brought something forth from nothing at that moment.
واللهand God وحدهHe alone هوHe المظهرthe One who brings forth لاnot
والله وحده هو المظهر لا
سواهother than Him فيin الماضيthe past والإستقبالand the future
سواه في الماضي والإستقبال
Yet God alone is He who brings things forth—no
And God alone is the One who brings forth, none
one but Him, in past or future.
other than Him, in the past and the future.
فإنso if تكنshould be نفوسهمtheir souls قدhave (perfect marker) ادعتclaimed
فإن تكن نفوسهم قد ادعت
إظهارbringing forth فعلan act همthey علىupon الضلالmisguidance
إظهار فعل هم على الضلال
So if their souls should claim
So if their souls have claimed
to bring forth an act, they are astray.
to bring an act into being, they are astray.
لاnot يظهرونthey bring forth منfrom جميعall ماthat which بهby it
لا يظهرون من جميع ما به
قدhave (perfect marker) وصفواthey were described فعلاan act منof الأفعالthe actions
قد وصفوا فعلا من الأفعال
Of all the things ascribed to them, they bring forth
They do not bring forth, from all that with which
not a single act among all acts,
they have been described, a single act,
فيin ظاهرthe outward أوor باطنthe inward وإنماbut only
في ظاهر أو باطن وإنما
يظهرهbrings it forth الخلاقthe Creator ذوPossessor of الجلالmajesty
يظهره الخلاق ذو الجلال
whether outward or inward; rather, it is only
outwardly or inwardly; only
the Creator, Lord of Majesty, who brings it forth.
the Creator, Possessor of Majesty, brings it forth.
وكلهمand all of them خلقُthe creation of الإلهِGod ربناour Lord
وكلهم خلقُ الإلهِ ربنا
معtogether with كلall الاَفعالactions علىin التتاليsuccession
مع كل الاَفعال على التتالي
And all of them are the creation of God, our Lord,
And all of them are the creation of God, our Lord,
together with every act, one following another.
