أجهلت قدرك أيها الإنسانُ

أجهلت قدرك أيها الإنسانُ

أنت الجميع وبعضك الأكوانُ

أنت الجميع وبعضك الأكوانُ

Have you been unaware of your worth, O human being?

O man, I did not know your worth

You are the whole, and the worlds are part of you.

You are everything, and the universe is but a part of you

والنور والظلمات أنت حقيقةٌ

والنور والظلمات أنت حقيقةٌ

وسوى كمالك كله نقصانُ

وسوى كمالك كله نقصانُ

And you are, in truth, the light and the darkness;

You are the light and the darkness, the truth

and everything besides your perfection is deficiency.

And anything other than your perfection is flawed

يكفيك أن الحق سمعَك قد غدا

يكفيك أن الحق سمعَك قد غدا

ويداً ورجلاً فيك وهو عيانُ

ويداً ورجلاً فيك وهو عيانُ

It suffices you that the Truth has become your hearing,

It suffices you that the truth has made you hear

and a hand and a foot within you, and He is manifest.

Giving you hands and feet, plainly visible

والكون أجمعه لأجلك خادم

والكون أجمعه لأجلك خادم

يسعى وأنت المالك السلطان

يسعى وأنت المالك السلطان

And the universe in its entirety is a servant for your sake,

And the whole universe serves you

striving, while you are the master, the sovereign.

Striving while you are its master and sultan

فإذا انتبهت لبست ثوب سعادة

فإذا انتبهت لبست ثوب سعادة

وإذا غفلت فثوبك الخسران

وإذا غفلت فثوبك الخسران

So when you awaken, you put on a robe of bliss;

So if you become aware, you wear the garment of bliss

and when you are heedless, your robe is loss.

And if you are heedless, your garment is loss

ولطيفك الجنات أنت منعم

ولطيفك الجنات أنت منعم

فيها غداً وكثيفك النيران

فيها غداً وكثيفك النيران

And your subtle self is the gardens; you will enjoy bliss

And your subtle reality is the Gardens you will enjoy

in them tomorrow, and your dense self is the fires.

Tomorrow, while your gross reality is the fires

إنزع ثيابك عنك وابق بغيرها

إنزع ثيابك عنك وابق بغيرها

تعرف مقامك أيها الإنسان

تعرف مقامك أيها الإنسان

Strip off your garments and remain without them;

Take off your clothes and remain without them

you will know your station, O human being.

To know your station, O man
