رويداً أيها النفس المراشَهْ
بأجنحةwith wings ضعافfrail كالفراشَهْlike a moth
بأجنحة ضعاف كالفراشَهْ
Gently, O feathered soul,
with frail wings, like a moth.
إذاwhen رأتit sees الوجودexistence رمتit hurled itself عليهupon it
إذا رأت الوجود رمت عليه
لتحرقto burn نفسهاitself تبغيseeking رشاشهits spray
لتحرق نفسها تبغي رشاشه
When it sees existence, it hurls itself upon it,
to burn itself, seeking its spray.
كمنlike those who فيin ظلمةdarkness خلتواunclear; likely 'were created' فنالواso they received
كمن في ظلمة خلتوا فنالوا
ورشand was sprinkled عليهمupon them النورthe light انتقاشهits imprint
ورش عليهم النور انتقاشه
Like those [created?] in darkness, who received—
as light was sprinkled upon them—its imprint.
بهconcerning it الخبرthe report الصحيحauthentic أتىcame إليناto us
به الخبر الصحيح أتى إلينا
عنfrom المختارthe Chosen One فاغتنمواso avail yourselves of معاشهits sustenance
عن المختار فاغتنموا معاشه
An authentic report of this has reached us
from the Chosen One; so avail yourselves of its sustenance.
