من صالحيتنا طرنا بأجنحة

من صالحيتنا طرنا بأجنحة

هي السرور لبستان يسمى البرجْ

From our Ṣāliḥiyya we flew on wings

With our wellbeing we flew on wings

That were joy itself, to a garden called al-Burj.

It is the joy for a garden called Al Burj

ونحن في تختنا كالنجم في فلك

ونحن في تختنا كالنجم في فلك

ما فارق البرج إلا وهو وسط البرجْ

ما فارق البرج إلا وهو وسط البرجْ

And in our litter we were like a star in an orbit,

And we in our bed like a star in its orbit

Never leaving the zodiacal sign without being amid al-Burj.

It didn’t leave Al Burj except being in the middle of Al Burj

حتى كأنا حمام جاء في قفص

حتى كأنا حمام جاء في قفص

ثم استقر وأمسى بائتاً في البرجْ

ثم استقر وأمسى بائتاً في البرجْ

Until we seemed like pigeons that had arrived in a cage,

As if we were doves came in a cage

Then settled and, at evening, stayed the night in al-Burj.

Then settled and spent the night resting in Al Burj
