فامتلا قلبي بنور الإقتراب

Exalted is a face that shone from behind the veil.

A radiant face peeked from behind the veil

So my heart filled with the light of drawing near.

My heart was filled with the light of his arrival

خافق الأذيال محبوب مهاب

خافق الأذيال محبوب مهاب

فاتح في كل وجه كل باب

فاتح في كل وجه كل باب

With fluttering hems, beloved and held in awe,

The fluttering garments of the beloved, revered one

In every face, opening every door.

Opening every face and every door

إنه المنظور في كل العيون

إنه المنظور في كل العيون

إنه المفهوم في كل الظنون

إنه المفهوم في كل الظنون

He is indeed the one beheld in every eye.

He is seen in the eyes of all

He is indeed the one apprehended in every conjecture.

Understood in every supposition

غير أن العقل عن هذا المصون

غير أن العقل عن هذا المصون

في قصور وذهول وارتياب

في قصور وذهول وارتياب

Yet the mind, before this inviolate one,

Yet the intellect is protected from this

Falls short, bewildered and doubtful.

In reluctance, confusion and doubt

أيها القوم اصعدوا فوق المنار

أيها القوم اصعدوا فوق المنار

واتركو الأغيار فالأغيار نار

واتركو الأغيار فالأغيار نار

O people, ascend above the minaret.

O people, ascend above the minaret

And leave all else, for all else is fire.

And leave strangers, for strangers are fire

وامسحو عن وجهكم هذا الغبار

وامسحو عن وجهكم هذا الغبار

وانظروا الوجه الذي في الغير غار

وانظروا الوجه الذي في الغير غار

And wipe this dust from your faces.

Wipe the dust from your faces

And behold the face that sank from sight within the other.

And behold the face that lights up the universe

لمتى أنتم سكارى في شكوك

لمتى أنتم سكارى في شكوك

لم تذق أنفسكم طعم السلوك

لم تذق أنفسكم طعم السلوك

How long will you remain drunk amid doubts?

How long will you remain drunk in doubts?

Your souls have not tasted the savor of the spiritual journey.

Your souls have not tasted the flavor of the path

ما لكم علم بأسرار الملوك

ما لكم علم بأسرار الملوك

إنها واضحة وهو الصواب

إنها واضحة وهو الصواب

You have no knowledge of the secrets of kings.

You have no knowledge of the secrets of kings

Indeed, they are clear, and that is the truth.

Which are evident and true

وصلاة الله ربي والسلام

وصلاة الله ربي والسلام

للنبي المصطفى خير الأنام

للنبي المصطفى خير الأنام

And may the blessing of God, my Lord, and peace

And the prayer of Allah, my Lord, and peace

Be upon the chosen Prophet, the best of humankind,

Upon the chosen Prophet, best of mankind

ولآل ولأ صحاب كرام

ولآل ولأ صحاب كرام

من بهم عبد الغني الداعي يجاب

من بهم عبد الغني الداعي يجاب

And upon his family and noble companions,

And upon his family and noble companions

Through whom ʿAbd al-Ghanī, the supplicant, is answered.

Among them Abd al-Ghani the answered caller
