إن للإحسان نورا

يملأ القلب سرورا

Charity has a light

That fills the heart with joy

وبه الأموات تحيا

بعد ما زارت قبورا

And through it the dead come alive

After they've visited their graves

جنة الدنيا لمن قد

شهد الدنيا غرورا

Paradise in this life is for those who

Have witnessed the world's deception

وهو يمنٌ وأمانٌ

نافخٌ مني صورا

It is a blessing and safety

Blowing life into my being

وهو ما بيني وبيني

لم يزل يضرب سورا

It is what's between me and myself

Never ceasing to build barriers

أطلعت منه سموا

تي شموساً وبدورا

Through it I looked up

To see suns and full moons

وعروس الخدر تجلى

أخذت كلّي مهورا

And the bride of spirits appeared

Taking all of me as a dowry

وتجارتي لديها

إن أرادت لن تبورا

My trade with her

If she wishes will never fail

نثر الدوح علينا

في ربا نجد زهورا

The pillars of unity rained down

In the One we find flowers

فانتشقنا نسمات

وتأملنا النهورا

We breathed soft breezes

And contemplated the rivers

وجنينا ورد خد

وترشَّفنا الثغورا

We reaped rose gardens

And sipped from the springs

أيها الغائب عنا

لا تقل بالله زورا

Oh you who are absent from us

Do not, for God, speak falsely

اترك اللوم ودعنا

نشرب الحب خمورا

Leave blame and let us

Drink love's wine

وعلى الحب أعنّا

إن تجد فينا قصورا

And help us in love

If you find any shortcomings in us

علّنا من وجه هذا ال

لوح أن نمحو سطورا

Teach us from the face of this

Tablet to erase lines

والتجلي دك مني

ومن الأكوان طورا

And reveal yourself to me

And the universes, openly

ليت هذا الأمر لو يد

نو من القلب خطورا

If only this matter would

Move dangerously from the heart

والذي ينفر عنا

ليته ينفى النفورا

And those who turn away from us

If only they would end aversion

عزة في كبرياء

أرخت الكل ستورا

Pride in glory

Cast a veil over all

وهو ما زال على ما

كان جباراً غفورا

And He remains as He was

Almighty, Forgiving

والذي نحن عليه

لم نزل فيه حضورا

That which we are upon

We have never ceased being present

ولقد أرسل أعوا

ماً علينا وشهورا

And He has indeed sent

Signs over us and months

وأويقات وساعا

ت توالت ودهورا

And times and hours

That have succeeded each other

وعلا عن كل شيء

وعن العلو وفورا

High above all things

And abundant grace

إنما الإحسان من إح

سانه الوافي أجورا

Charity is only from

His charitable rewards

وبه الأفلاك دارت

ساكنات منه دورا

And through it the spheres revolved

Inhabited, rotating

وبه الأملاك قامت

تخدم الرب الشكورا

And through it the angels stood

Serving the Grateful Lord

فاجتهد فيه وجاهد

وعليه كن صبورا

So strive in it and struggle

And upon it be patient
