أنفاس ربا نجدِ

The dawn breathed in us

breaths from the hills of Najd.

بالشوق وبالبوجد

So the heart has melted

So the feelings have melted away

with longing and ecstasy.

with yearning and ecstasy

يا طلعة من أهوى

يا طلعة من أهوى

في أشرف أوقاتي

في أشرف أوقاتي

O visage of the one I love,

O the most beloved smile

in the noblest of my moments!

in my most noble times

والوجه له نور

والوجه له نور

قد أشرق في ذاتي

قد أشرق في ذاتي

And the face has a light

With a face whose light

that has shone within my being,

has illuminated my essence

حتى ظهر المخفي

حتى ظهر المخفي

للعز وللمجد

للعز وللمجد

until the hidden appeared

Until the hidden became apparent

for honor and for glory.

هذا العلم المفردْ

قد كان وما كنا

This unique banner

This singular knowledge

already existed, while we did not.

والمجلس يحوينا

خذ كأسك والدنَّا

And the gathering holds us:

And this gathering contains us

take your cup and the wine jar.

لا شيء هنا يبقى

مِنْ وَلَدٍ أَوْ جَدِّ

Nothing here remains,

For nothing here remains

be it child or grandfather.

neither children nor ancestors

عندي خبرٌ يروي

عني وعن الساقي

عني وعن الساقي

I have a tale that tells

I have a narrative that quenches

of me and of the cupbearer.

الصدق له نالت

الصدق له نالت

أهل الشرف الباقي

أهل الشرف الباقي

Sincerity toward him was attained

Truthfulness has obtained for it

by those of enduring honor.

the everlasting nobility

غير المولى عدم

غير المولى عدم

لا شيء هنا يجدي

لا شيء هنا يجدي

All but the Lord is nothingness;

Other than the Master, nothingness

nothing here avails.

nothing here is of benefit

أمد الدنيا ربي

May blessings, with God's peace, be bestowed

May the peace of God continue

by my Lord, throughout the world's span,

the life of this world my Lord

للفرد نبي الله

on the peerless one, God's Prophet,

For the singular Prophet of God

and his family, together with his companions,

and his family and companions

مدحاً لذوي الود

No servant enriched with bounty

praise for those endowed with love.
