فحي على الجمال فلا جناحُ
Beauty's signs are the lovely ones.
The signals of beauty are the sailor,
So come to beauty; there is no blame.
So greet beauty, there is no blame.

Faces like full moons upon forms—
Faces like full moons on slender necks,
when they sway, what are dusky spears beside them?
When they sway, not the dark spear of blame.

Lovers' blood is lawful to shed in this world.
To the blood of lovers - in religion no sin.
ولاand let not يكbe بالجلودby skins لكfor you افتتانfascination
ولا يك بالجلود لك افتتان

And let skins hold no fascination for you,
You are not tempted by mere skin,
for it is not those skins that are the lovely ones.
For that skin is not the sailor.

And no subtle secret is hidden from them;
Nor is the subtle secret hidden from it
through it the veils of hearts are laid bare.
By the veils of hearts, which it exposes.

And the transient is not the object sought; rather,
The ephemeral is not the intended, but
a sash from it has revealed the everlasting.
Its traces on the eternal have adorned.

Do not ask the hearts, for they are drunk,
because the beauty of the beloved's face is wine.
For the beauty of the beloved's face has gone.

With it the sneering scorner looks down
over lovers, as does the full-hipped maiden—
On lovers and reddened cheeks.

For an eyebrow, when dawn breaks.

to the beloved that is not open to you.
To the beloved, you are not permitted.

Beware, besides it the lion struggles!

Turn away from the reproving women in your youthful dalliance,
To you from the flirts in pretentions
when the winds sweep you toward him.
When the winds blow you to it.

There the darkness passed, and the dawn came.
