والزم العلم بفهم وطلبْ

Be steadfast in truthfulness and courtesy,

Be steadfast in honesty and good manners,

and hold fast to knowledge with understanding and pursuit.

And adhere to knowledge with understanding and seeking.

واتق الله بقلب خاشع

واتق الله بقلب خاشع

واجتنب ظلمة أنواع السبب

واجتنب ظلمة أنواع السبب

Fear God with a humble heart,

Fear God with a humble heart,

and shun the darkness of every kind of cause.

And avoid the darkness of all causes.

وانظر النور الذي في طيه

وانظر النور الذي في طيه

حيث أدنى بالأقاصي واقترب

حيث أدنى بالأقاصي واقترب

Behold the light enfolded within it,

Look at the light enveloped within you,

where it brought the farthest near and drew close.

Where the farthest draws near and comes closer.

وتوكل في المهمات على

وتوكل في المهمات على

خالق الخلق تنل أعلى الرتب

خالق الخلق تنل أعلى الرتب

And in weighty matters, place your trust in

And in important matters, rely

the Creator of creation; you will attain the highest ranks.

On the Creator of creation, you will attain the highest ranks.

وتوسل كل وقت في الذي

وتوسل كل وقت في الذي

أنت راجيه به تلق الأرب

أنت راجيه به تلق الأرب

And at every moment seek recourse for what

Plead at every moment with the One

you hope for; through Him you will attain your desire.

Whom you hope will grant you wishes.

ثم لا تنس هنا عبد الغني

ثم لا تنس هنا عبد الغني

من دعاء الخير فالله يهب

من دعاء الخير فالله يهب

Then do not forget ‘Abd al-Ghani here

Then do not forget here the servant of the Wealthy One,

in prayers for good, for God bestows.

From supplicating goodness, for God grants.

وصلاة الله ربي لم تزل

وصلاة الله ربي لم تزل

مع سلام لنبي منتخب

مع سلام لنبي منتخب

And may the blessings of God, my Lord, never cease,

The prayers of my Lord have never ceased

with peace upon a chosen Prophet,

With peace upon the chosen Prophet.

وكذاك الآل مع أصحابه

وكذاك الآل مع أصحابه

عصبة الحق ومنجاة الكرب

عصبة الحق ومنجاة الكرب

and likewise upon his family and his companions—

And likewise his family and companions,

the company of truth and a refuge from distress—

The party of truth and salvation from distress.

أمد الأزمان ما غرد في

أمد الأزمان ما غرد في

دوحه الطائر فاهتاج الطرب

دوحه الطائر فاهتاج الطرب

throughout the ages, as long as there warbles in

For as long as the eras continue, for as long

its grove the bird, and rapture is stirred.

As the bird sings melodiously in its orchard, arousing joy.
