  2. وحقيقة تهوى الظهور خفية

    يا درة بيضاء لا هوتية

    And a hidden reality longs for manifestation.

    O white, divine pearl,

  3. قد ركبت صدفاً من الناسوت

    داء الجميع وقد بدات بدوائهم

    You have mounted a shell of human nature.

    Everyone’s affliction—yet she has begun with their cure:

  4. عن غيرها أن جانبوا بهوائهم

    فهي التي فيها كمال صفائهم

    Their turning away from all but her through their longing.

    For she is the one in whom lies the perfection of their purity.

  5. جهل البرية قدرها لشقائهم

    وتنافسوا بالدر والياقوت

    Humankind did not know her worth because of their wretchedness,

    And they vied over pearls and rubies.
