Were it not for God and His servant, you would have fled

    when terror unnerved every coward,

at the valley bend, when our horses stood firm for us,

while galloping steeds fell headlong upon their chins,

amid runners with their robes in their hands,

and fleet steeds, all hooves and breast.

And God grants security after a day that cut you down,

to you, though you had not come forth in safety.

And God honored us and made our religion prevail,

and made us mighty through worship of the Most Merciful.

And God destroyed you and scattered your host,

and abased you through worship of Satan.
