فَجَلَّلتُها حَصى جَنادَةَ غَدرَةٍ

فَجَلَّلتُها حَصى جَنادَةَ غَدرَةٍ

وَأَيقَنتُ ما أَندى حُلَيسا وَجابِرا

وَأَيقَنتُ ما أَندى حُلَيسا وَجابِرا

So I covered her with Janādah’s pebbles of treachery;

So I clad it in the armor of treacherous fate

And I knew for certain how generous Ḥulays and Jābir were.

And knew well the one who brought together companion and healer
