O weary sufferer, gain respite from all suffering,
if you wish to attain the greatest benefit.
If you wish to enjoy the best songs.

أراك إلى العصيان أقبلت راغباً
ولمand did not تأتyou approach منthe one whom عاهدتهyou made a covenant with him بوفاءwith faithfulness
ولم تأت من عاهدته بوفاء
I see you eagerly turning toward disobedience,
I see you incline towards disobedience willingly,
yet you have not been faithful to the One with whom you made a covenant.
And you have not been loyal to your covenant with Him.

بذل وخوفٍ صادقٍ وبكاء
Come, rise to your Master and ask Him, saying,
Arise, go to your Master and say to Him,
with humility, sincere fear, and weeping:
With sincere humility, fear and weeping:

Pardon my stumble, my God, and erase my lapse.
"My God, I confess my stumbling and my errors,
Answer my call, my Lord, with kindness from You.
Answer, my Master, my call with Your kindness."

To whom do You [unclear verb] me concerning sins I have committed,
To whom can I flee with the sins I have committed,
who would expiate them for me, when You are my hope?
Except You who can forgive me, as You are my hope?

If You are not there for me, who is there for my lowliness and misery,
If I have no refuge from my sorrows and misery,
and to purge my burdens of sin and erase my error?
No cleansing of my burdens and wiping out my sins,

عن الباب مطروداً وفيك ولائي
Reward me; far be it from Your abundant generosity that I should be seen
It would be unjust of Your boundless generosity for me to see
cast out from the door, when my allegiance is to You.
Myself turned away from Your door, though my loyalty is to You.

Is casting me out part of Your all-embracing justice, when I have
Is it just, with Your justice, that You reject me when I have
no hope but You, O my desire and all I wish for?
No one to hope for but You, O my desire and aspiration?

If my lapse has driven me far from Your presence,
If You distance me from Your presence because of my slip,
my shame, my Master, draws me near to You.
My modesty before You will bring me closer again, my Master.

Answer, O my physician, whenever I call upon You in humble submission,
Answer, O my Healer, my whispered prayer,
for from You comes my remedy, O Generous One, for my ailment.
For You alone, O Noble One, can cure my sickness.
