لَأَضْرِبَنْ بِذي القَفا قَفا رَجُلْ

لَأَضْرِبَنْ بِذي القَفا قَفا رَجُلْ

وَأَصْبِرِ النَّفْسَ اِبتِغاءَ ما جَمُلْ

وَأَصْبِرِ النَّفْسَ اِبتِغاءَ ما جَمُلْ

I shall surely strike a man's nape with Dhū al-Qafā,

I will strike with that which is most upright, a noble man's nape

and restrain my soul, seeking what is noble.

And I will calm my soul, seeking what is most beautiful
