  1. يقطع قلبي بالصدود تجنياً

    ويزعم أني مذنب وهو مذنب

    He tears my heart apart by spurning me unjustly,

    And claims I am guilty, though he is guilty.

  2. كعصفورةٍ في كف طفل يذيقها

    أفانينَ طعم الموت والطفل يلعب

    Like a little bird in the palm of a child who makes it taste

    The varied flavors of death, while the child plays.
