بَداhe appeared لابساًwearing بُردَthe mantle of النبّيِthe Prophet محمّدMuhammad
بَدا لابساً بُردَ النبّيِ محمّد
بأحسنَwith greater beauty مِمّاthan what أَقبلَcame forth البَدرُthe full moon طالعاrising
بأحسنَ مِمّا أَقبلَ البَدرُ طالعا
He appeared wearing the mantle of the Prophet Muhammad,
He appeared wearing the mantle of Prophet Muhammad
fairer than the full moon as it rose.
More beautifully than the full moon rising
سَمِيُّnamesake of النبيِّthe Prophet وآبنُand son of وارثهِhis heir الذيwho
سَمِيُّ النبيِّ وآبنُ وارثهِ الذي
بهِthrough him استشفعواthey sought intercession أَكرِمhow noble بذلكَthat one شافعاas an intercessor
بهِ استشفعوا أَكرِم بذلكَ شافعا
The Prophet's namesake and son of his heir, the one
The namesake of the Prophet and his heir
through whom they sought intercession—how noble an intercessor!
The one through whom they sought intercession, most generous intercessor
فَلمّاthen, when عَلاascended الأعوادَthe wooden pulpit قامَstood بخطبةٍwith a sermon
فَلمّا عَلا الأعوادَ قامَ بخطبةٍ
تَزيدُincreases هُدىguidance مَنwhoever كانَwas للحقِّof the truth تابعاa follower
تَزيدُ هُدى مَن كانَ للحقِّ تابعا
Then, when he ascended the wooden pulpit, he stood to deliver a sermon
When he ascended the pulpit, he delivered a sermon
that increases the guidance of whoever followed the truth.
That increases guidance for those who follow the truth
وكلُّand every عَزيزٍmighty man خَشيةًout of fear منهُof him خاشعٌhumble
وكلُّ عَزيزٍ خَشيةً منهُ خاشعٌ
وأَنتَand you تَراهُyou see him خَشيةَout of fear of اللَهِGod خاشعاhumble
وأَنتَ تَراهُ خَشيةَ اللَهِ خاشعا
And every mighty man is humble in fear of him,
And every mighty one is humble before him
yet you see him humble in fear of God.
While you see him humble before God
