حَتّىuntil أَتَيتُI came to مُرِيّاًMuriyy وَهوَand he مُنكَرِسٌcrouching
حَتّى أَتَيتُ مُرِيّاً وَهوَ مُنكَرِسٌ
كَاللَيثِlike a lion يَضرِبُهُstrikes him فيin الغابَةِthe thicket السَعَفُthe palm fronds
كَاللَيثِ يَضرِبُهُ في الغابَةِ السَعَفُ
Until I came to Muriyy, who was crouching,
Until I came upon him collapsed
Like a lion struck by palm fronds in the thicket.
Like a lion being struck by fronds in the jungle
