أَأُمَّكَwas it your mother? كانَتshe had أَخبَرَتكَtold you بِطولِهِof its length
أَأُمَّكَ كانَت أَخبَرَتكَ بِطولِهِ
أَمor أَنتَyou اِمرِؤٌa man لَمdid not تَدرِknow كَيفَhow تَقولُyou speak
أَم أَنتَ اِمرِؤٌ لَم تَدرِ كَيفَ تَقولُ
Was it your mother who had told you of its length,
Was your mother the one who told you of his height
or are you a man who does not know how to speak?
Or are you a man who does not know how to speak
