And she dragged her hooves through Iraq,

until we left it like a clothes rack.

    They brandish every long spear,

    straight in blade and shaft-tip.

Their battle-clamor, when they set out at dawn, is like

the cries of sandgrouse in a fertile land.

One with a radiant face guides us,

    noble in ancestry and rank,

radiant, his light shining for us

when the throng of the cavalcade disperses.

    The squadrons keep cloaking him

in a canopy of dust, not held by tent ropes.

    وَمَن يَنصُرِ اللَهُ لا يُغلَبِ

    He was aided by us, and we were given victory through him;

and whoever God helps cannot be defeated.

May my mother and her sons be your ransom,

and if you wish, I will add my father to them.

So whoever is one of us spends the night safe,

and whoever is not one of us flees.
