يَخرُجنَthey emerge مِنfrom فُرُجاتِgaps النَقعِthe dust دامِيَةًbloodied
يَخرُجنَ مِن فُرُجاتِ النَقعِ دامِيَةً
كَأَنَّas though آذانَهاtheir ears أَطرافُtips أَقلامِpens
كَأَنَّ آذانَها أَطرافُ أَقلامِ
They emerge bloodied from gaps in the dust,
They emerge from the crevices of Al-Naqaa
as though their ears were the tips of pens.
