يَزَعُdraws back الدَّالِيthe water-drawer مِنَfrom الدَّلْوِthe bucket الوَذِمْwith broken straps
يَزَعُ الدَّالِي مِنَ الدَّلْوِ الوَذِمْ

The water-drawer draws back from a bucket with broken straps.
ثُمَّthen نَوَّمْنَthey (feminine) lulled to sleep ونِمْنَاand we slept سَاعَةًfor a while
ثُمَّ نَوَّمْنَ ونِمْنَا سَاعَةً

Then they lulled us to sleep, and we slept awhile,
Eyes lowered, bowed down in the halters.
