يَرْوِيhe quenches the thirst of قَوَامِحَthose raising their heads, refusing drink قَبْلَbefore الصُّبْحِthe dawn صَادِفَةًturning aside
يَرْوِي قَوَامِحَ قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ صَادِفَةً
أَشْبَاهَlikenesses of جِنٍّjinn عَلَيْهَاupon them الرَّيْطُthe robes والأَزُرُand the waist-wraps
أَشْبَاهَ جِنٍّ عَلَيْهَا الرَّيْطُ والأَزُرُ
He gives drink before dawn to those with heads raised, turning aside,
Before dawn she waters the slender branches,
Like jinn, with robes and waist-wraps upon them.
Like sprites over whom dust and bracken blow.
