جمل المحامل طلْ
إيدو على جبالو
The Camel of Burdens appeared,
his hand upon his mountains.
فوق الشفايف ظلْ
للأرض موالو
On his lips lingered
his folk song for the land.
نادى ع أرضو وقالْ
لا بد ما نرجعْ
He called out to his land and said:
We are bound to return.
الليل مهما طالْ
الفجر رح يطلعْ
However long the night lasts,
dawn will rise.
لا بد ما يطلعْ
جمل المحامل مدْ
It is bound to rise.
The Camel of Burdens lengthened
خطواتو لبلادو
حمل السلاحْ وشدْ
his strides toward his homeland.
He took up arms and pressed on,
ونادى على ولادو
عهد الأرض مكتوبْ
and called to his children.
The land's covenant is written;
نبضو فلسطيني
شدت عليه قلوبْ
his pulse is Palestinian.
Hearts rallied around him,
والوعد حطيني
نبضو فلسطيني
and the promise is of Hattin.
His pulse is Palestinian.
جمل المحامل نارْ
ما ينطفي جمرو
The Camel of Burdens is fire;
his embers do not go out.
ضد الأعادي ثارْ
وامتدت الثورهْ
He rose up against the enemies,
and the revolution spread.
نادى وهب الصوتْ
في أرضنا حجارهْ
He called out, and his voice rose:
In our land are stones
توقف بوجه الموتْ
بزنود جبارهْ
that stand in the face of death
with mighty forearms,
بزنود جبارهْ.
