فضاءات لعشق جامح — طلعت سقيرق

حينَ تكونينَ

تطلعُ العصافيرُ مواويلَ عشق ٍ

When you are,

the birds rise as ballads of love;

تصير ُ البحارُ .. المرايا ..

حقولُ اللوز أحلى

the seas become... mirrors...

the almond fields are lovelier.

أدرك الآن لماذا

تشابكت ِ الدروبُ

Now I understand why

the paths intertwined

على أصابع ِ الوقت ِ المؤجَّل ِ

وانتشى اخضرار الربيع ِ

upon the fingers of deferred time,

and spring's greenness grew intoxicated,

والنايُ على كلِّ سحبة ِ عطر ٍ

تمادى حنينا ... وصلى

and the reed flute, with every waft of fragrance,

went ever further in longing... and prayed.

لا شيء يسبقُ أن تكوني

في شرايين قلبي

Nothing comes before your being

in the arteries of my heart.

فأنت الآن

Nothing...

من قمة الوجدِ

داخل قلبي

above the summit of passion,

revealed itself as love, like carnation blossoms,
