فكيت أوصال المعاني فكوك

وصنت غيماتي والاقمار

وصنت غيماتي والاقمار

I thoroughly unfastened the joints of meanings,

And safeguarded my clouds and the moons,

من بعدما ضاقت بِبالي الشكوك

من بعدما ضاقت بِبالي الشكوك

وصاحت اجراسي بالانذار

وصاحت اجراسي بالانذار

After doubts had closed in upon my mind,

And my bells rang out in warning.

من قال إن الشعر يِشتي صكوك

من جني عالي الجاه والدار

من جني عالي الجاه والدار

Who said that poetry needs writs

From a jinn of lofty rank and abode?

الشعر فوق الجِن فوق الملوك

الشعر فوق الجِن فوق الملوك

إذا فتح صندوق الاسرار

إذا فتح صندوق الاسرار

Poetry is above the jinn, above kings,

When it opens the chest of secrets.

يلك أبواب السرايا لكوك

يلك أبواب السرايا لكوك

ويفتح الدنيا بإصرار

ويفتح الدنيا بإصرار

It pounds the doors of palaces, blow upon blow,

And opens the world with determination.

يدك أوهام الفجائع دكوك

يدك أوهام الفجائع دكوك

إذا طريق الركب احتار

إذا طريق الركب احتار

It utterly crushes the illusions of calamities,

When the caravan's path grows bewildered.

And the letter in my poetry's prayer niche is a way of life,

That illuminates my hopes and thoughts.
