Taiz's glory... yet thirst makes the children gasp.

And its land and the sky call generations to witness.

Indeed, thirst is contrived by a state of neglect,

And by governments formed without a measure.

They care only about filling their coats and trousers,

While Taiz's people may drink—or join those who have passed away.

Eight years, and the money keeps repeating the refrain.

My patience has run out, O Yemen, and my waiting has dragged on.

And the loan flings you shawl after shawl.

Come on, bring out Taiz's water and stop the evasive talk.

The people will die of thirst, while you follow the same old pattern.

You embrace empty clatter and abandon deeds.

You take pleasure in the thirst of the city of heroes.
