May God, Lord of mankind, bestow His finest reward
on Abu Ma‘iz, as an official and a friend.
He settled my request justly, then granted it
in good faith, though some people are not truthful.
And when he saw me approaching, he said, “Welcome!”
Indeed, welcome! Your valley is not narrow.
You inherited glory and eminence from Dudan,
and you are not like one who remains obscure unless he clings to others.
Abd Allah built you a house upon a height,
above every valley and road around it.
And a man's finest hidden treasure, at a moment of trial,
is found when the glory of his roots unites with Islam.
