Sol 6.1

  1. Have you not seen that I treat a promise as a binding obligation?

    To me, a man's evasion of his promise is brother to treachery.

  2. And a man who does not follow through on his words

    fulfills neither a covenant binding upon him nor a pledge.

  3. If a man, both kinsman and wrongdoer, is sorely afflicted

    by adversity, his misfortune dissolves my resentment.
