أَصَلاحُ أَنّي لا أُريدُكِ لِلصِّبا

أَصَلاحُ أَنّي لا أُريدُكِ لِلصِّبا

فَدَعي التَشَمُّلَ حَولَنا وَتَبَذَّلي

فَدَعي التَشَمُّلَ حَولَنا وَتَبَذَّلي

O Salah, I do not want you for youthful dalliance.

So stop wrapping yourself up around us, and dress for work.

إِنّي أُريدُكِ لِلعَجينِ وَلِلرَّحا

إِنّي أُريدُكِ لِلعَجينِ وَلِلرَّحا

وَلِحَملِ قِربَتِنا وَطَبخِ المِرجَلِ

وَلِحَملِ قِربَتِنا وَطَبخِ المِرجَلِ

Indeed, I want you to knead dough and work the millstone,

And to carry our waterskin and cook in the cauldron.

وَإِذا تَرَوَّحَ ضَيفُ أَهلِكِ أَوغَدا

وَإِذا تَرَوَّحَ ضَيفُ أَهلِكِ أَوغَدا

فَخُذي لِآخَرَ نَحوَ أَهلِكِ مُقبِلِ

فَخُذي لِآخَرَ نَحوَ أَهلِكِ مُقبِلِ

And when your family's guest departs in the evening or the morning,

Then prepare for another approaching your family.
