I say, with my anguish and rage mounting:
I say—and it has increased my anguish and rage—
May God bring the rule of Ziyad’s sons to an end,
May God end the rule of the sons of Ziyad,
and drive them far away for their treachery and betrayal,
And banish them for their treachery and betrayal,
as far away as Thamud and the people of ʿAd.
As Thamud and the people of ʿAd perished;
May their mounts never return to them
And may their riding camels not return to them,
once they halt, until the Day of Calling.
Once they halt, until the Day of Calling.
