أَقبَلَ كَالبَدرِ طَلعَةً وَسَنا
بِقامَةٍ كَالقَضيبِ مَيّاسِ
He came forth like the full moon in countenance and radiance,
He came forward, like the full moon in countenance and radiance,
with a figure like a slender bough, swaying gracefully,

يَسقي مُحبّيه خَمرَ ريقَتِهِ
ساقٍ كَريمٍ يَدورُ بِالكاسِ
giving those who love him the wine of his mouth—
He gives his lovers the wine of his saliva to drink,
a generous cupbearer circling with the goblet.
