Spacious, radiant edifices—
Spacious, radiant buildings,
through every land, with his provinces among the works he built—
In every corner of his buildings lies a district,
belonging to a king whose banners are victorious.
For a king whose banners are victorious.
He has stretched his wall around the two horizons,
He has stretched his wall around the East and West,
and set his throne above Saturn.
And set his throne above Saturn—apparently the intended reading.
Had it reached the Chosen One, or his age,
Had he lived to see the Chosen One or his times,
the All-Merciful would have revealed a sura concerning it.
The All-Merciful would have revealed a surah about him.
Or had inhabited edifices spoken,
Or, if inhabited buildings could speak,
God would surely have made his palaces speak for him,
God would have made his palaces speak for him,
and they would have spoken words in his praise, handed down through time.
And they would have spoken memorable words to him:
لا أفقد اللَه العلي دوره
بهاءه وضوءه ونوره
May God never bereave the lofty heights of his mansions,
“May God Most High never deprive his dwellings
his splendor, his radiance, and his light.
Of his splendor, his radiance, and his light.”
