على الهوى واعتنقا

And two companions agreed

on love, and embraced.

وأقسما بالود وال

إخلاص أن لا افترقا

And they swore by affection and

sincerity that they would never part.

ضمنهما أزهر كالن

ضمنهما أزهر كالن

نَجم به قد وثقا

نَجم به قد وثقا

Within them is a radiant one, like a

star, in whom they have put their trust.

لم يشك في خصريهما

لم يشك في خصريهما

مذ ضمناه قلقا

مذ ضمناه قلقا

Between their waists he has never complained

of unease since they embraced him.

من تحته عينان من

من تحته عينان من

ذ انفتحا ما انطبقا

ذ انفتحا ما انطبقا

Beneath him are two eyes; since

they opened, they have never closed.

وفوقه ناران ما

حلا فما مذ خلقا

And above him are two fires that have never

dwelt in a mouth since they were created.

يفرقان بين كل

لِ ما عليه اتفقا

They split apart all

that they agree upon.

فأي شيء لاقيا

فأي شيء لاقيا

ه ألقياه فرقا

ه ألقياه فرقا

So whatever thing they encounter,

they leave it in pieces.
