A towel whose plush nap makes you imagine that it

A towel whose pile makes you imagine

has scattered its camphor over a tray—

its camphor crumbled upon a platter;

as though its tufted folds had brought forth

as though its tufts had been made to sprout by

what they had sipped of the pearls of sweat.

what it had sipped of the pearls of sweat.
