  1. Have they shifted from one opposite to the other—

    your delusions about the dead and buried?

  2. Do they embalm the dead man in his coffin,

    while you burn the dead man in the furnace?

  3. Is what you do a form of honor, or

    a form of torture and humiliation?

  4. Fire would be the best purifier for bodies,

    if bodies had any feeling.

  5. If you used reason, you would return them to the soil;

    and the earth is the truest origin and destination.

  6. Decay is surely their fate, even if they are

    in seas, on planets, and in palaces.

  7. And ask yourselves where the souls are, for they

    are more deserving of reflection and careful planning.
