1. O Minister of Finance, gather the money and spend

    on areas of reform from what you have gathered.

  2. Indeed, what you took from the people belongs to the people;

    so return twice what you took.

  3. Have you lightened for the farmers a debt

    so crushing, or settled it and paid it?

  4. And have you eradicated the intractable disease through what you chose

    of policies and measures of many kinds?

  5. And has the one forced to toil on the land reclaimed it,

    independent in planting and growing upon it?

  6. Do good, and seek help from those fit for it;

    and leave aside whatever else you have heard.

  7. For the people have never ceased to call you to account,

    and you are a fine keeper of accounts for the people!
