1. Counsellor of the land, you are, in what

you deem right for it, strong and able.

  2. The kindness you have added is indeed among those matters

in which you alone are learned and expert.

  3. And the burdens that have descended and grown

are a duty upon you, easy and light.

  4. And the hope of which you are worthy—

its appointed time has come, now that you are minister.

  5. You have undertaken the people's duty; so the thankful one

is you, the great one, and the one thanked.

  6. And he who has made the path to glory fair

has a glorious outcome and destination.

  7. And the station of favor with the supreme king

is one for which someone like you is fit and worthy.

  8. Full are the treasuries of wealth, as long

as its direction and management remain yours.

  9. You, in gathering and disbursing it with

justice, are like Time revolving with life.

  10. And when wealth is in a reformer's keeping,

    it is multiplied and abundant.

  11. People are equal in prosperity, so none

remain in any home distressed or wronged.

  12. And the secure valley will be spared from war,

even if the warning grows insistent elsewhere.

  13. Many a one near the blaze has escaped from

it, while the blaze has reached one far from it.

  14. And when the people's hearts guard what they must defend,

no raider can reach what they must defend.

  15. And he who restores peace on earth through gentleness

is empowered there and granted victory.
