A greeting from a proud soul I offer

To you, the dearest visitor I greet.

تفقدْ قرى الإقليم واشهد ولاءه

كما أنت راجيه وآمله فيه

Inspect the province’s villages and witness its loyalty,

As you hope for it and expect it there.

وإن مكاناً زرته لهو جنة

وإن مكاناً زرته لهو جنة

بما أنت قاضيه وما أنت مجريه

بما أنت قاضيه وما أنت مجريه

And any place you have visited is surely a paradise

Through what you accomplish and what you bring about.

وما ساعة أمضيتها في عشيرتي

وما ساعة أمضيتها في عشيرتي

سوى الدهر تمليه نعيماً وتهديه

سوى الدهر تمليه نعيماً وتهديه

And no hour you spent among my kin

Is anything but an eternity you fill with bliss and bestow.

فبلغ وزير الملك أنّا دعاته

إلى كل ما يرضي البلاد ويرضيه

إلى كل ما يرضي البلاد ويرضيه

So tell the king’s minister that we invite him

To all that pleases the country and pleases him.

وأنّا بما أبدى وأجدى أعزة

وأنّا بما أبدى وأجدى أعزة

وأنّ له العقبى بما بات ينويه

وأنّ له العقبى بما بات ينويه

And that, through what he has shown and bestowed, we are honored,

And that the final reward is his for what he plans by night.

وأنّ له الإيمانَ من كل مخلص

وأنّ له الإيمانَ من كل مخلص

وعهداً يراعيه وحقاً يوفيه

وعهداً يراعيه وحقاً يوفيه

And that he has the faith of every sincere soul,

And a pledge each honors and a due each pays in full.

وأنّا حماة العرش والعرش خالد

وأنّا حماة العرش والعرش خالد

نقدسه تقديس مصر ونفديه

نقدسه تقديس مصر ونفديه

And that we are guardians of the throne, and the throne is eternal;

We revere it as we revere Egypt, and sacrifice ourselves for it.
