  1. My ailment is cured—so praise be to my Lord,

    the Giver of health, the Wise, the Healer.

  2. But the doctor Eid forbade me

    from treating rhymes throughout the summer.

  3. And that is my excuse to all my companions,

    be they evening companions, scholars, or journalists.
