Nor gold from which a mountain was fashioned,

  2. Until the Tigris flowed amid the radiance,

And the highest peaks were canopied with light

  3. By a cloud of smoke, while sparks rose,

And thunder of music, and showers of joy.

  4. And the billowing cloud of smoke kept rising,

Until Saturn was tinged by it.

Then the light gilded them until they blazed,

  6. In sparks mimicking the plunge of stars,

And lightning like the flash of white swords unsheathed.
