بمن لو رآه كان اصغر خادم

The panegyrist likens him, in valor and generosity,

To one who, were he to see him, would be the lowliest servant.

ففي جيشه خمسون ألفاً كعنتر

For in his army are fifty thousand like ʿAntar,

And mightier still; and among his treasurers are a thousand Ḥātims.
