You recognize Lamīs's ruined campsite from yesterday,
like writing worn away by the years.
Good morning, ʿAlqam son of ʿAdī!
Are you staying today, or will you depart?
The young men have already readied their caravan,
and the meat in the hollows has not been lifted out.
When she captivates onlookers and reveals
gleaming, evenly spaced teeth, like chamomile,
sweet as fresh-picked apples I have blended,
moistened with the coolness of dew.
