The lessons of the days suffice to restrain a man,
If he does not remain drunk, but sobers willingly.
Daughters of noble men, never troubled by hardship,
Like figurines, steeped in blended perfume and stained with it.
I dallied with them, in secret affairs and lawful unions,
Nor did I treacherously neglect my loved ones' covenant.
They steal languid glances from behind the curtains,
And show their fingers through a slit in their chamber curtains.
